Portraits For Friends

I've definitely been on a roll lately with my portraits.

I've done one for myself and five others (one being a five-person family portrait.)

Self Portrait

Happy (day after) Mother's Day! (This goes out to all mamas out there, including, but not limited to... mamas of humans, furbabies... and even those dads out there that act as mamas to their littles... go you!)
What did you do yesterday? I spent the better part of the day with a head and stomach ache. No fun! But I did get in some art! I made this little self portrait (that I am in love with!) and I also made a card for my mom. (And helped my son make a card for her, too.)

My husband took awesome care of me while I wasn't feeling too hot yesterday; he is fantastic. He even made me an awesome card (and helped our son make one for me, too!)

Digital Sketchbook

I sketched this self portrait a couple of weeks back. My hair is naturally about this colour; though it's currently blue. I love my small Wacom Intuos Pen & Touch tablet so much. It feels so comfortable to use; not at all like my old tablet. My old tablet was one of the scratchy Bamboo tablets. I never could really get the hang of it; it's like they tried to make the texture less smooth on the tablet so it would be more like paper aaaand they took it too far. But my new tablet is fabulous (and has the touch feature, too!) and cost only 30 bucks more than I paid for the old one a few years back.

I've considered selling at the farmer's market down the street during summer because it's the perfect time and place every week... But I have to get a vendor's license; and it's just a lot of legal mumbo jumbo. It doesn't cost much but I want to make sure that I'm doing everything right. And that scares me. But we'll see; if I do go through with it, I'll make sure to write it on here!

Do you have experience with opening up a shop / being a vendor? (Legally, that is. With a license and all...) In Ohio, specifically? That would be super helpful. Haha.

Frida

On Friday, I spent the better part of my morning painting flowers with my watercolours.
This particular set of flowers made me think of Frida after the fact. I had drawn a different face almost under the flowers, but I was able to fit Frida's entire face under the flowers.

I had heard of Frida as a child and teenager but never bothered to learn much about her. As an adult, my curiosity grew and I took it upon myself to do more research on her. (I'd still like to learn more.) But now I know a bit about her life and her art. I admire her very much.

I might re-upload this because I'm thinking about multi-media-ing it; maybe with some stitching / embroidery.

Tiny Bangs

IT'S ME. I love it! I'm so excited about it, lol.
I'm thinking about maybe selling portraits / drawings... We'll see...

We finally got Lennon's big boy bed; it was supposed to be a birthday gift; his birthday was a few months back! We had a lot of issues with where we bought it from and it took forever. He slept on it for the first time a few nights back and he seemed to sleep pretty well!
